Complex Environmental Problems
Complex environmental problems have multiple factors that cause compounding adverse impacts to the environment. These are commonly referred to as “Wicked Problems”.
The multi-faceted and interconnected nature of wicked problems make them impossible to resolve from an individual effort. With issues stemming from multiple sources, wicked environmental problems such as diminishing water security, increasing prevalence of emerging contaminants and large-scale biodiversity loss all require multidisciplined solutions that work to address their problematic sources collectively.
Conventional solutions focus narrowly on a central factor without addressing the surrounding issues and they fail to identify or leverage broader opportunities to create value.
At WCG, our vision stems from the need to address important environmental issues in ways that provide the best opportunities to create positive differences and deliver exceptional value to stakeholders. We always aim to leverage our diverse range of expertise to implement our vision into projects at any stage of their development.
Creating Co-benefits
The Water & Carbon Group approach projects collaboratively, leveraging the knowledge and experience of our multi-disciplined team to create cutting edge solutions that integrate natural assets where possible.
We start with asking the right questions to develop a broader understanding of a project. This helps to identify opportunities to add value to the larger social, economic, and environmental causes of a customer’s challenges.
Our unique focus on multi-disciplined collaboration produces the ability to develop
robust solutions packed with cobenefits.
Through collaboration, we strive to deliver future-proof solutions that not only meet the business needs of our customers today, but are driven by our deep purpose to have a lasting impact on the wellbeing of communities to shape a better future.
