Jim is a highly experienced CEO, with 29+ years of commercial experience throughout the water/wastewater, ecology, and agricultural industries.

Jim’s uncanny ability to commercialise emerging technologies has allowed him to develop commercialisation strategies for several university and CSIRO led technologies. His most recent focus has led him to introducing a new wave of game-changing and ecologically based wastewater treatment and PFAS extraction technologies into Australia.

He is driven by his desire to bring about a new wave of thinking into many of Australia’s environment and utility-based industries. Determined to leave a positive and lasting impact, his job is not done until we are moving in the right direction toward a more sustainable and liveable future.

When Jim isn’t working, you can usually find him surfing at one of the many pristine beaches in SEQ or riding mountain bike trails at Mt Coot-Tha.

Amanda is the Chief Financial Officer at the Water and Carbon group, responsible for managing and controlling the company’s finances. She also holds a board member position for Our Rainbow House, a NFP based in Central Queensland.

After starting her career in Big 4 accounting, she gained over 20 years of experience working with several high-profile international companies such as, BHP Billiton, Petronieos (London) and Morgan Stanley (London).

Amanda joined the WCG team in 2020, with a desire to work in a leading role for a company who shares her interest in sustainability and innovation. The passion Amanda brings to her work stems from her love of learning new things and the ability to create opportunities for positive changes in the industry.

Outside of work she enjoys cycling, travelling, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Mark Mullett

Mark is the PFAS and Mining Development Manager at WCG, responsible for the development of PFAS and mining solutions.

Throughout Mark’s 25+ year career, he has worked across several projects resolving hydrometallurgical and wastewater problems within the industrial and mining sector, has been involved in over 30 journal and conference publications and is a co-inventor of a related patent.  

To add to his vast experience, Mark has completed a Masters in Industrial Chemistry and an Honours Degree in Mineral Science, demonstrating his extensive industry knowledge. 

When Mark is not working or hanging out with family, he will be at the gym, or bowling, fishing, kayaking, camping or gardening.

David is the Manager of Wastewater at WCG, responsible for the development of bespoke wastewater treatment solutions that lead the industry in performance and sustainability.

Over his 18+ year career, Dave has worked in the design and construction of wastewater treatment, bioenergy, biosolids management and resource recovery projects. Completing projects spanning from Australia to the South Pacific, Europe and South East Asia.

Growing up in an industrial-focused area, the importance of environmentally conscious decisions was immediately apparent to David. Together with the creativity required, the ability to develop sustainable wastewater infrastructure that create positive impacts is what drives him in his work.

When David is not at work, you’ll find him on the basketball court or camping with his family along the beaches of Stradbroke Island.

Callum joins the Water & Carbon Group team as Carbon and Natural Capital Manager, responsible for developing and managing programs that tackle the issues of biodiversity loss and climate change.

Callum has more than 24 years’ experience in leading and managing complex projects and operations across Australia and Europe. He brings high-level expertise in commercial contracting, financial and project management from working in the property acquisition, land management, agriculture, eco-tourism, business growth, strategic planning, and environmental markets.

Callum joined the Water & Carbon team in September 2022 to use his multidisciplinary experience and skills to tackle biodiversity issues and help contribute to Australia’s emissions reduction targets.

In his spare time, you will find Callum with his friends and family, playing cricket or golf, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, cooking, gardening, hitting the gym, or camping.

His breadth of knowledge supports his determination to broadly identify and analyse risks and opportunities, ensuring these are articulated, and most importantly apportioned and managed efficiently and cost effectively.

In his spare time, Jai loves all manner of outdoor activities, like riding, bushwalking, or going for a swim at the beach with his three kids. Otherwise, you’ll find him working on multiple projects around the house or garden.

Kylee holds a Bachelor of Environmental Technology and has completed graduate studies in digital marketing and communications. Her expertise in marketing and content strategy has been forged over a decade working across government, healthcare, research and consulting. She has experience in government, communicating about water management, solar programs and resource recovery, and as a science communicator for cooperative research centres. Her diverse background includes work as an environmental sustainability adviser and a campaigner in environmental NGOs (non-governmental organisations).

In her spare time, Kylee teaches tap dancing, wrangles a small child, dabbles in climate change activism, and likes to read every book on the planet.

Dan is the Manager of Environment & Ecological Restoration at the WCG, responsible for producing robust solutions for a variety of Australia’s emerging ecological challenges. He is also the president of the Slacks Creek Catchment Restoration Group (SCCRG), a community focused NFP based in Logan, QLD.

In recent years, Dan’s impressive knowledge of ecological restoration, horticulture, reforestation and diversified landscapes has seen him achieve several awards for his work both in Australia and abroad. He is currently one of the few Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioners (CERP) in Australia.

Dan’s passion for his work stems from a perpetual desire to make meaningful impacts on the environment and communities at large. For him, it is most rewarding when ecological restoration projects generate strong social and cultural co-benefits.

In Dan’s free time, he enjoys surfing in the Gold Coast and exploring the national parks and rainforests around SEQ and Northern NSW.

Robert McKenzie

Robert is a Senior Designer at WCG responsible for leading the design of wetland, effluent irrigation and water reuse projects.

Robert has amassed over 20+ years of experience working in the field of ecological engineering, specialising in wetland design. Throughout his career he has led multiple wetland design teams, most notably for Unity Water’s award-winning biodiverse forest and treatment wetland project in Maleny (designed by WCG). Earlier in his career, he also spent time researching and lecturing on ecological engineering and passive treatment systems at Griffith University and abroad.

Since Roberts introduction to ecological engineering, he has been a passionate advocate for the utility and benefits that natural process provide to water treatment. In his work, he is driven to create solutions with strong, long term benefits that leave a legacy for future generations to enjoy.

Robert spends most of his spare time on his 40ft sailing boat, cruising along the east coast of Australia.

Sean Karimi

With an educational background in Chemical Engineering and strong working experience in water and wastewater projects, we are very excited to have his expertise on the team. Sean’s seven years in the industry has seen him preparing concept designs and providing crucial feedback, managing teams of people and projects, and working closely with contractors, directors and clients, ensuring maximum professional satisfaction in water treatment and engineering. He also has experience in the mining industry, having completed the Design and Operation of Membrane system in the Municipal, Mining, and Industrial Application course.  

He looks forward to working towards a more sustainable future by collaborating with customers and colleagues to find holistic environmental solutions in a cost-effective way to ensure WCG delivers lasting and positive outcomes for the ecology. 

When Sean is away from work, he enjoys camping, four-wheel driving or watching Arsenal in the EPL.

Linc Symons

Linc Symons is the Treatment Plant Operation Manager at WCG, responsible for supervising and coordinating wastewater treatment plant activities and overseeing workplace safety policies and procedures.

Over his 12+ year career, Linc has worked in several medium to large water treatment facilities. His extensive experience in operations and project delivery in the environmental services and water treatment field saw him deliver clean and safe drinking water for local communities as well as environmentally safe water for beneficial re-use by effectively leading and managing his water operation’s team.

Linc is an expert safety and environmental management specialist, committed to ‘zero harm’ for both his team and stakeholders.

In his spare time, he loves to support and watch his AFL team, Adelaide Crows and enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife.

Joey Frawley

Joey Frawley is the Operations and Maintenance Technician at the Shoal Bay Waste Management Facility leachate treatment plant, responsible for overseeing the commissioning and operation of the plant, conducting all site-based repairs and managing potential safety hazards.

With more than 10 years’ experience in commercial, industrial and domestic plumbing, he has solved many complex plumbing and logistical problems with his excellent ability to read and interpret hydraulic drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams and housing plans. Joey’s passion for safety and operational time frames makes him an excellent team player as he continues to monitor the operations of the leachate plant in Shoal Bay, NT.

In his spare time, Joey loves to bring his partner and three boys to Queensland to enjoy Noosa’s beautiful beach weather.

In recent years, she has worked for international, privately owned companies Morrow Equipment LLC and Liebherr Australia.

Maree joined WCG with a keen interest in innovation. She is motivated in her work by being the backbone of an organisation, allowing her management team to focus more intently on driving company strategy and achieving key initiatives.

Paul is the Construction Manager at WCG, responsible for managing and coordinating all building activities throughout our project sites.

Paul began his career working on large-scale construction projects, before pivoting to planning and managerial roles later in his career. With 40+ years of experience, Paul has amassed an impressive resume of construction projects ranging from wastewater & green infrastructure to high-rise towers, shopping centres and bridges.

Disappointed by the lack of environmental consideration within the building industry, Paul made a switch to constructing sustainable infrastructure with WCG in 2014. With a passion for the outdoors, Paul enjoys constructing projects that enhance the surrounding environment and benefit the local community.

When Paul isn’t managing construction sites, you can find him downhill mountain bike riding throughout SEQ, dirt bike riding or surfing on the Sunshine Coast.

Simon is a highly experienced infrastructure site manager, currently based at one of our project sites in the Northern Territory. He is responsible for the project management and commissioning of new wastewater infrastructure projects at the WCG. 

Simon is an industry veteran, amassing over 35+ years of experience working within construction management, field services and environmental management. Over his long career, he has project managed, commissioned, and supervised hundreds of infrastructure projects throughout both urban and rural Australia. 

With a passion for educating the new generation of engineers and construction managers, he is driven in his work to set a strong example and create positive, sustainable outcomes wherever possible.  

Despite his penchant for constructing infrastructure, Simon enjoys building hot-rods in his spare time.

Through her work experience and tertiary studies, Atalana has been well prepared for her role, having built solid skills in meeting multiple deadlines, contributing to group projects and discussions, and taking the lead. 

She is passionate about the environment and her long-term goal is to make a difference through designing and developing innovative solutions for a more sustainable future.

Bruce Duguay

Bruce is an Ecological Restoration Practitioner and Team Leader at WCG, responsible for leading on-site teams in day-to-day operations and completing specialist ecological restoration activities.

Bruce has accrued over 30 years of experience working throughout the reforestation, ecological restoration and land rehabilitation industries. Having begun his career in Canada, Bruce has worked in a wide variety of different landscapes spanning across South America and the east coast of Australia.

Completing ecological restoration work is rewarding for Bruce, as it allows him to work outdoors and have positive, long-lasting impacts. He is driven by the ability to restore degraded landscapes, increase biodiversity and create spaces that are cherished by landowners and the community.

Outside of work, Bruce enjoys bushwalking around SEQ, swimming in freshwater lakes & creeks and strategy games.

Mathew Linahan

Mathew Linahan is an Ecological Restoration Practitioner at WCG, responsible for carrying out specialist ecological restoration projects which focus on restoring land and wildlife habitats.

With more than 11 years of industry experience, he brings a range of skills and know-how from his time in the forestry, firefighting and environmental restoration sectors. Starting his career in Victoria, Mat has worked with a range of businesses in South Australia, New South Wales and Queensland.

Since joining the WCG team in 2021, Mat has enjoyed the opportunities and challenges presented in his position as an Ecological Restoration Practitioner. His role has allowed him to blend some of the best environmental restoration plans to achieve incredible results for clients.

Outside of the office, Mat goes from being an ecological restoration expert to a cricket bat maker. His growing side hustle sees him regularly handcrafting custom-made cricket bats in his spare time. In addition, Mat continues to show his craftiness with his impressive cooking skills.

Anthony has spent his life in the north Texas region of the United States. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas, and while at university enjoyed hands-on experience over 7 years in production and sales.

Anthony has a passion for engineering and has also honed his skills in understanding customer needs through effective communication, relationship building, and problem- solving.

Since graduating, Anthony has been a project engineer in the water treatment industry. He leverages technical expertise to drive projects from conception to completion, delivering solutions that not only safeguard human health and the environment but also pave the way for a more sustainable future.

Scott Jardine joins the Water & Carbon team as the Carbon and Natural Capital Technical Lead, responsible for geospatial and technical design of emissions reduction and carbon farming projects.

He brings more than 12 years’ experience to the team as an agronomist, with an extensive background in economic development, geospatial design, and agricultural waste management. Throughout his career, he has driven change in sustainable waste management, nutrient use efficiency and provided agricultural consulting services to improve the accessibility of agronomic and environmental information and data management.

Scott joined our team in February 2023 to pursue his passion for developing sustainable solutions which support emissions reduction and carbon sequestration.

Outside of the office he is an adventure seeker, taking on activities such as free-diving and cyclocross riding. When he wants to stay close to home, he’ll do some gardening or practice his taekwondo.

Jonathan Quintanar Velasco joined the Water and Carbon Group (WCG) team in 2023 as a Process Engineer, responsible for developing and designing process systems and equipment as well as assisting with project commissioning and startup.

Jonathan originally started his engineering career in Mexico, completing a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering and working for various water and waste treatment companies. In 2017, he moved to Australia to complete his Masters in Engineering Management and Project Management and has accumulated more than five years of industry experience before joining the WCG team.

Throughout his engineering career, he has designed industrial water and wastewater infrastructure and has worked on several water treatment projects in the industrial, municipal and resource sectors such as mining.

When Jonathan isn’t working, he looks for an opportunity to go for a run or ride while listening to podcasts or discovering new music. If the weather isn’t great, you’ll find him watching a movie. When he is in Mexico, he loves to visit Baja California peninsula because the food is delicious, the desert sunset is incredible, and the Cortez Sea’s water is pristine and perfect for swimming.

Nick Ganzon

Nick Ganzon is our USA Country Manager leading US operations. He is responsible for the strategic management of current projects and client relationships within the solid waste, wastewater and water sectors.

Nick brings more than 32 years’ industry experience in business transformation, driving new product development, and product management. He has a strong track record of driving strategic growth, delivering exceptional results, and enabling businesses to forge a sustainable path within their respective markets.

Having lived in the Finger Lakes region in New York his whole life, water has played a huge role in his upbringing, fueling his passion for the industry.

In his spare time, Nick spends a lot of time on the water. He has sailed his whole life, participating in races, and now he is learning how to kitesurf. When he isn’t in the water, you can find him playing golf.

Jeff Travis

Jeff Travis is the VP of Engineering and forms part of the Water & Carbon Group (WCG) team in the United States. He is responsible for the design, fabrication, and on-site operation of the LEEF System® used for PFAS removal from landfill leachate and other wastewater applications.

With more than 24 years of industry experience, he brings a strong record of designing, manufacturing, and installing wastewater treatment equipment across the world. As a proven leader, his management, engineering, project management, and sales skills play a vital role in the roll-out of the LEEF System® in the United States.

Jeff’s dedication to removing PFAS from leachate is shown in his eagerness to provide an innovative solution that will make our world a cleaner and safer place, free of landfill contamination.

In his spare time, Jeff likes snowboarding with his boys, golfing, or relaxing at a winery.
